Today is the special day of one of my favorite teacher when I was in fourth year high school. She was my English teacher. One sentence that I can describe her is that she's strict but such a very good teacher. As I was remember, we already knew what type of teacher she is though it's just the first day of our class to her. It's our first day of class to her when she returned the 1/4 sheet of paper of most of the class because we failed to wrote what she wanted to see in our mother's name. As days, weeks goes by, we have come to observed that from the first day we met her up to the day before her special day, she always wore a color black clothes. It made us to feel curious about it but no one of the class could ask her. July 14, 2009, that's the day we first saw her wearing a full white clothes. And we we're surprised to see her wearing that clothes. It seemed really good to her and very different from the previous clothes she's wearing. Few minutes later, while she was busy teaching us, her friend who was then my adviser and English teacher when I was in third year high school visited to our classroom and greet he "Happy Birthday" and kissed her on her cheeks. At first, we felt happy to see our former adviser in the middle of the quiet and serious class. And then, we were also surprised when we knew that they were friends and it's our English Teacher's birthday. What we did was we sang the happy birthday song. That was the first time we saw her smiling and very happy. And also the question that linger in our mind about the reason why she suddenly changed the color of her clothes.

No Other Man
Father's Day is a special day that we celebrate every third Friday of June to honor our father. This is the day to honor the big contribution of our father to every family not just being the head of the family who provide the necessities of the family and who made the final decision but of course how our father taught us to become a good citizen of our society and how great our father in contributing to what we are now and what we can be. Fathers are the man who show unconditional love, care and support to his family. Today, let's all be thankful that God gave us a man who took care to us when we we're just an infant and who did all that he can just to make our family become stronger and happy. Thanks God for giving us wonderful father! :)
My Graduation Day!
Today, I want to honor the No Other Man of Our Life, the Best Father for us, our Papa..
The man who sometimes wake up early just to prepare breakfast for us.
The man who always want to serve him a coffee whenever he wants to drink.
The man who taught us how to play scrabble.
The man who encourage me to join organization in school.
The man who attended general assembly in school when mama did not want to.
The man who sometimes help me in my assignments.
The man who attended my high school and college graduation.
The man who is strict but joker and funny sometimes.
The man who laugh with us when we had a corny jokes.
The man who participate when me and my younger sister is practicing English speaking.
The man who's very happy when his grandchild is dancing and singing.
The man who always want to inculcate to our mind the importance of perseverance and hard work.
The man who work hard for half of his life in in order to provide our necessities and to support our studies.
The man who still proud of us despite of mistakes that we've done and disappointments that he felt when we didn't met his expectations.
The man who never stop showing love, care and support to us.
Those things that will reminds us how good and responsible man he is.
And THAT MAN IS NO OTHER THAN THE BEST FATHER FOR US, OUR PAPA.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY PAPA!! :)

Graduation Day!!
Graduation Day is one of the special day which every student is waiting for.. But how important nga ba ang graduation day sa mga students, parents, teachers and family members?? Maybe, for a student like me, it's really important because this is the day where in we can say that our four years of hardships in college is really worth it!! Sa mga teachers, masasabi nilang worth it din ang mga pagtuturo nila kung makikita nila ang kanilang mag estudyante ay gagraduate na and they did a great part in the life of every students; not just imparting their lessons, sharing their knowledge and experiences but also being a second mother to us and being our role model, and inspiration.
Kaya naman, masasabi ko talagang worth it ang lahat ng aking pagod, puyat at pagpapalipas ng gutom.. Di ko malilimutan ang mga moments na na-feel ko talagang college na nga ako and it's really different from high school. Nandyan ang sleepless nights, cramming for exam, sabay-sabay na deadline ng projects, thesis, experiments in experimental psychology, protocols in Psychometrics and and Rorschach, Psychological Report in Projective Techniques, mala-board exam sa Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and etc.. Imagined, kung paano kame nakasurvive sa mga major psychology subjects??
Finally, tomorrow (April 30, 2013) is the day we are waiting for.. Gagraduate na kame!!! But why I feel this way?excited, masaya and malungkot.. I'm happy kasi sa wakas gagraduate na kame. Malungkot kasi magkakahiwalay na kame ng mga taong nakasama ko at naging kaclose ko for 4 years.. But i'm also thankful because what I always pray to God when I graduated in high school is to enter college but God gave more than what I always pray. As I was remember 1 month after my graduation, my father lost his job which made us to have financial problem to support my studies. Akala ko di na ako makakapag-aral ng college and that was the saddest moment that i ever had. From the time I feel helpless and hopeless na makapag-aral, i was able to know God more and have faith on him. I always pray na sana makapag-aral ako. Sabi ko nga sa sarili ko dati, hindi ko talaga sasayangin ang oppurtunity na makapag-aral.
At ngayon, I can't imagined na gagraduate na ako ng college. In my four years in college, I was able to realize that God has best plans to us. Di man ako nakapag-aral sa University na gusto ko but God put me in the place where I will grow, where I will excel, where I will develop my skills and ability, and where i will feel the love, care and support of my friends, classmates and professors. I'm really thankful din kasi in four years of being a college student, may mga achievements ako kahit na sa tingin ko ang ending ng college life ko is same in my high school life. I didn't expect to be the top 1 in class when I was in fourth year high school pero naging top 1 ako because what I always want lang naman is makapag-aral. at ngayon na naman, di ko naman hinangad na grumaduate with honors pero eto naman, I will graduate in college as Cum Laude. Alam ko sa achievement na ito, may naka-abang ditong expectations lalo na ang next chapter ng aming buhay bilang college graduate is the" real world". Para sa akin, di naman mahalaga ang mga achievements na matatanggap natin, what is important is you did your best, you are motivated ,you have the desire to learn, and the most important is you have faith in God.
Happy Graduation Batch 2012-2013!! :-)

OJT at Gingersnaps
It's been almost two months since the day that I posted in my blog about how hard it is to find an industry where we can undertake our on the job training in industrial setting. And now, I'm so happy that i'm already done with my ojt at Gingersnaps. I undertook my 360 hours of on-
the-job training at Lifestyle Concepts Inc. Co. from November 26, 2012 to
February 12, 2013. During my first day of training, the HR Assistant (Ms. Christina Reyes) who was then my supervisor scheduled us for an orientation. She
informed us about some company policy like the dress code during training, our
daily time record through bio metrics the location of different Departments and
the comfort room, where Department we will be assigned and most of all the
confidentiality of all the documents especially in the Human Resource
Department where I have assigned. On the same day, I learned how to use some of
the company facilities like the Xerox machine, fax machine and the telephones.
Throughout the day, I did photocopying and fax some HR documents and attend to
telephone calls. I was assigned at HR Department but on my first day, I stayed
at Inventory Department because the HR Department is too small. My supervisor
just called me on the telephone or just went at Inventory Department when I
have something to do. She also introduced to me about Gingersnaps and Just G
which is also their product; the different stores/ branches that they have and
the three agencies that they handling.
My first day seems my first day in college life wherein I have to make some adjustments because training in industry is really different from schooling just like what our high school life is very different in college life. You have to adjust to different personality of employee there, you have to observe the working hours and you should know the nature of your job.
In
my first week of training, my supervisor taught me about the different HR
forms, files and documents and where to keep them. I also did some filing and
record keeping such as 201 file, time-keeping record, official business slips,
itinerary forms, vacation and sick leaves, HR memorandums, contracts,
resignation letters, clearances of direct employees and employees under
agencies. She also let me to administer and evaluate psychological tests like
the Sach’s Sentence Completion Test (SSCT) to qualified applicants for the
lower position like the cashier, customer sales associate, warehouse staff, and
driver. I also types and encodes HR reports and documents. I also experienced
to speak in front of different Department Managers when I have to give the HR
Memorandums like the change of working schedule due to Company Annual Christmas
Party and Annual Employees Medical and Physical Examination.
In
my second week of training, my supervisor let me to conduct preliminary
interviews to applicants but of course with the guidance first of Ms. Kat (Jr. HR
Clerk). In my first try of conducting preliminary interview, I felt
nervous because it was first time to speak in front of applicant though every
day I entertained applicants, clients and guests; still it’s a different
feeling when you do it in actual but then as days and weeks goes by, I used to
conduct initial interviews without feeling nervous and it reverse to the
applicants that some applicants feel tense when I interviewed them. Most of the
applicants that I interviewed were the lower positions like cashier, customer
sales associate and warehouse staff. I was also trained how to make endorsement
for the store trainees and how to orient them about the training guidelines. I
also learned how the clearances of employees under agencies are being
processed. I also learned how to compute the performance appraisal for those
who have finished their training period. I also conducted exit interview for store
trainees who submit their clearances. I’m also the one who monitor the stocks
of boutique uniforms. My supervisor also assigned me as the one who will
monitor the applicants referred by three agencies every week and make a
numerical report about it to be signed by the president of company. She also
assigned me to monitor the attendance of ojts and the record of leave of
absence of employees.
In
my third week of training, I requested the newly hired applicants to complete
their requirements/documents and follow-up the result of their medical
examination. I also follow up those store trainees who finished their training
period and those who still undergo training. I also invited the respondents
from Job Street for an interview through telephone calls. Whenever, there are
job vacancies, I did short list from for pooling files/active files. In the
last day of my OJT, I was able to experience to attend Job Fair which is done
last February 12, 2013 where in me and my two classmates (Mark Humawan and Jun Cabuang) were the one who
conduct initial interviews and administer examination for all the applicants.
I’m so happy that all the applicants that we have selected passed the final
interview. It was a great experience though a tiring one! After I learned some
of the HR activities, I did it every day until on the last day of my training.
Pasig City Mega Job Fair |
For
almost two months of my training in their company, I can say that I was really
trained when it comes to HR functions especially in recruitment and selection. Training in their company also helps me to develop my interpersonal skills and enhance my communication skills. I was able to interact and speak in front of different people with confidence. I was able to harness my English communication skills whenever I invited those applicants applying for higher positions. I learned a lot from all the HR staffs there especially to my supervisor.

Becoming a Competent and Ethical Practitioner of Psychology
Last December 7, 2012, we,the 25 Fourth Year BS Psychology students of Rizal Technological University Pasig Campus together with our adviser, Prof Agnes Montalbo attended the 6th annual seminar about "Becoming a Competent and Ethical Practitioner of Psychology" at Provincial Gymnasuim, Trece Martires Cavite. It's really an interesting topic and opportunity for us to learn more about practicing psychology as our field of specialization.
Speakers on the said seminar were former President of Philippine Psychological Association, Dr. Maria Caridad Tarroja; and Dr. Felipe Escano. Dr. Tarroja discussed the Republic Act 10029 which is also known as the Philippine Psychology Act; the Ethical Standards and the Career path for psychology majors while Dr. Escano discussed how Psychiatrists and Psychologists work hand on hand. We learned a lot from them which will be helpful for us to be a competent and ethical practitioner of psychology.
During lunch break, we were very proud to see the special number of clients at Cavite Center for mental Health Psychological Services. They dance the most popular song today and that is the "Gang Nam style". I'm so happy to see them dancing that song because even me I can't get the steps of that dance. While eating our lunch, we were entertained from the intermission number of clients. Before the seminar proceed to second speaker, we were energized by the icebreaker prepared by Dr. Tarroja and it really tests our mental abilities but we enjoyed it!
I also enjoyed participating at the open forum. Imagined! I was able to speak in front of many people which is one of my weaknesses. I was able speak with the former president of Philippine Psychological Association. Even though I feel so nervous on that time, I'm happy na rin because I saw my friends, schoolmates and most espcially our professor, Prof. Agnes Montalbo cheered me. Before I went at the center of the gymnasium I've already feel tense because I feel I can't speak in front of them. As I was speaking, I feel I'm like a candle or ice which is continue to melt because of many eyes looking at me but then I was able to say what was in my mind. Unfortunately, I forgot to share my experiences regarding the answer that I am explaining. I feel my self-confidence was boost up to 10% because of what I did. I think this was the most unforgettable moment that I've ever experienced! I will really treasure that short moment speaking in front of honorable Dr. Caridad Tarroja.
Before the seminar end, we were also entertained by the last speaker because he discussed about love.. He gave inspirational quotes about love and how neurotransmitters like dopamine and sorotonin increases when a person is in love. I admit as a students, we were very interested in topic like love.
At the end of the seminar, our stomach is not just full of food but our mind as well was full of knowledge and ideas not just from the captivating words of speakers but also from those students who participated during the open forum.
After the seminar, we had a short tour at Cavite Center for Mental Health. We were guided by one of the OJT there and I like the way she gave information about CCMH.
After seminar and tour, we decided to went to Tagaytay where we did overlooking at Taal volcano. It's really relaxing because of the fresh and cool air. We're so very happy and we enjoyed staying there even just a short period time.

OJT in Industrial Setting
It's been 2 weeks since our first class for 2nd semester started but up to now, i'm still looking for a company that will hire me as one of their intern. i thought it's easy to find an industry that will accept ojts but i'm wrong because i'm applying for 2 weeks and up to now, i didn't received any call from those companies that i applied. i applied online in 6 different companies and i applied also walk-in in 6 different companies but up to now, only one company who send an email and saying that my application in their company is in the midst of processing the applicants. sad to say, i really want to undertake my ojt on that company because there's so many people saying that you will really be trained when you take your ojt there. i've just come to realize that it's really hard to look for a jobs because you have many competitors aside from your school mates, there were also many students from different and prominent universities. another reason that i think why it's hard to find jobs is that some companies are not really accepting if its fixed season especially the Christmas season is coming so they are many expenses in their company. sabi ko nga, ojt palang nahihirapan na most of my classmates, what if pag talagang trabaho na ang hinahanap namin, eh di mas mahirap!
does anyone know where i can undertake my OJT in industrial setting???

I feel so bored..
Hayyy... It's been almost 1 week of sembreak and I still feel bored... Having a semestral break is one of the days that I hate because every sembreak , I feel bored and I don't know what I'm going to do.. I just feel tired of thinking a possible ways to loose my feeling of boredom.. Buti na lang may facebook kahit papaano nalilibang ako sa mga games at pagtingin ng pictures pero minsan pag nagsawa na ko, ayan na naman mararamdaman ko na naman ang boredom. so what i did id to read again my notes from my previous subjects or read any books or magazines that makes me interest. Reader's Digest is one of them that I really enjoyed reading because you can really learn a lots from their articles and I love the quotes the writer always wrote!! One thing more that I did to loose my boredom is fixing my handouts from all my previous subjects though it's so tiring it makes me to be busy...
Right now, to avoid boredom I'm reading one by one the blogs of my professor who is the one who required us to make our blogs.. I enjoyed reading her blogs.. :)
